Interspecies Justice

Building a More Compassionate World for All Living Beings

At Charity Doings Foundation, we believe that compassion should extend beyond human communities. Animals are sentient beings who experience pain, fear, vulnerability and the need for care and protection.

Why This Matters

Protecting Animals When They Are Most Vulnerable

Animals can become especially vulnerable during floods, displacement, abandonment, injury and neglect. In many communities, animals are also closely connected to people’s livelihoods, making their wellbeing an important part of household and community resilience.

CDF provides practical support through animal rescue, welfare assistance, veterinary services and shelter. During the devastating floods of 2024, CDF’s animal-response efforts helped rescue approximately 1.1 million animals, demonstrating the scale of need that can emerge when communities and animals are affected by disaster together.

Our work recognises that protecting animals during emergencies is not separate from humanitarian response. It is part of building safer and more compassionate communities for everyone.

CDF's Farm Animal Shelter

A Safe Place for Farm Animals

CDF’s Farm Animal Shelter and Sanctuary provides a dedicated space for animals in need of protection and care. The sanctuary represents an important part of CDF’s commitment to improving the lives of farm animals and creating greater awareness of their welfare.

With approximately 7,800 square feet of space, the sanctuary provides an environment where rescued animals can receive care and protection.

Beyond providing shelter, the initiative seeks to encourage a broader understanding of farm-animal welfare and the responsibility people have toward animals that depend on human care.

Farm Animal Shelter & Sanctuary

At Charity Doings Foundation (CDF), we believe compassion should extend to every living being. Our farm animal shelter provides a safe place for vulnerable animals, offering shelter, veterinary care, food, and protection during emergencies and disasters.

Animal Relief & Welfare

Our commitment to animal welfare is not limited to emergencies. CDF works throughout the year to protect animals, respond when they are in danger, and support the communities that depend on them.

Animal Advocacy & TNVR Campaign

At CDF, we believe animal welfare also means speaking up for better systems. We advocate for humane, scientific, and sustainable approaches to managing community animal populations.

Veterinary Services & Livestock Support

Healthy animals are essential to healthy communities. For rural families, livestock can be closely tied to food security, income, and everyday life.

Animal welfare

Veterinary Care, Welfare & Community Support

Animal welfare requires more than rescuing animals after they are already in distress. Access to appropriate veterinary care, responsible animal management and ongoing welfare support can help prevent suffering and improve the quality of life of animals within communities.

CDF’s veterinary and livestock-support work helps address these needs through practical assistance for animals and the people who depend on them.

Our animal welfare initiatives also include support for community animals and programs designed to manage populations humanely. Through initiatives such as TNVR — Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return — CDF promotes a more responsible approach to community-animal welfare while addressing population management through humane methods.

Our vision

From Animal Welfare to Interspecies Justice

Our vision is an Ecosystem of Hope — one where communities, animals and the environment are treated as interconnected parts of a healthier and more compassionate future.
