Animal Relief & Welfare

A Lifeline for Animals in Every Crisis

Our commitment to animal welfare is not limited to emergencies. CDF works throughout the year to protect animals, respond when they are in danger, and support the communities that depend on them.

Why This Matters

Responding to the Cholistan Drought

During the severe drought in Cholistan, South Punjab, in 2022, CDF launched a rapid relief operation to support livestock at risk.

With an estimated 40,000 animals facing the effects of the crisis, we mobilised eight trucks carrying 12 tons of vital fodder feed. The relief helped sustain cows, goats, buffaloes, and lambs through one of the most difficult periods.

Our Approach

Responding When Animals Need Help

01

Emergency Relief

When animals face drought, disaster, or severe shortages of food and water, we respond with practical support where it is needed most.

02

Food & Fodder

Providing essential fodder can mean the difference between survival and loss for livestock during a crisis.

03

Veterinary Support

Animals affected by injury, illness, or disaster need more than food. Our teams work to provide treatment, medicines, and essential veterinary care.

04

Protecting Livelihoods

For rural families, livestock are often an important source of food and income. Supporting animals also helps protect the livelihoods of the communities that depend on them.

Overall Output and Impact

Compassion in Action

We believe animal welfare means being there when animals are most vulnerable — with food, care, protection, and practical support.
