The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep children out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick.
But access to clean water means education, income and health – especially for women and kids.

PUNJAB – In rural areas where water scarcity is a challenge, women like Nadia Bibi faced significant difficulties with their menstrual health. “When water was scarce, dehydration made my menstrual cramps unbearable,” Nadia shared. “I often experienced headaches, dizziness, and extreme fatigue during my cycles, which made daily tasks nearly impossible.”

The installation of water pumps through Project Paani has made a remarkable difference. “Having easy access to clean water has improved my overall health,” Nadia explained. “I no longer suffer from dehydration during my menstrual cycle. The headaches and dizziness are gone, and I feel much more comfortable.” Project Paani’s efforts have alleviated a significant burden for women in the community. “This change has not only improved my menstrual health but has also made daily life easier,” Nadia said. “I’m grateful for the relief and the positive impact on my well-being.”
The community have lauded CDF for their unwavering commitment to their well-being and shown immense gratitude. The Project Paani has become a catalyst, not only for improved health and to eliminate water scarcity issues but for an overall upliftment of living standards.
