BASIC PROVISIONS & FOOD CHARITY
THE DREAM
FOOD FOR ALL – ERADICATING HUNGER, ONE SOUL AT A TIME
Many challenges faced by Pakistan today, poverty & unemployment remain one of the most daunting. Despite recent technological, economical, and industrial growth and the improvement of quality of life, the poverty rate remains as high as 39% and an unemployment rate of 4.7% which leads to a great number of people struggling to meet ends meet in their daily lives. Even in large urban centers of the nation, much of the populace lives below the poverty line. Further exacerbated by the large income gap between demographic segments, rising inflation and rapidly depleting food and water resources, survival has become a despairing trial for a great number of people.

The simplest act of charity is often the most profound, with consequences echoing from hereon to eternity
The simplest act of charity is often the most profound, with consequences echoing from hereon to eternity. It is for this ideology, that the combined initiative of Syed Zamir Jafri Foundation, Muazzam Ali Shaheed Welfare Trust, and Charity Doings Foundation. Project Dastarkhuwan was brought to life. Dastarkhuwan – the simplest, purest, and noblest expression of love and charity, is a commitment of the provision of food to eat for those who need it, with no discrimination on race, gender or religion. It is an expression of empathy from those who can and are willing to spare, to those who are in need. Currently, the project is periodically executed in three locations in Islamabad – PIMS, Chour Chowk and I-9 – providing free and hygienic meals to more than 200+ people at a time. Quality, consistency & indiscrimination are the core principles for this project undertaken by the joint venture of both organizations.
We believe every soul fed is a step closer to shortening the vast gap between despair and hope. Every person who does not have to go to sleep hungry that day, every smile on the face of an otherwise despairing father as he watches his children sleep fulfilled, and every man who sees hope after despairing struggle is an investment into the future of this nation! We hope to cultivate dreams, passion, and empathy and develop an emotional connection across social boundaries. Above all, we commit ourselves to the ideology that everyone has the right to sleep without worrying about dying of hunger. Through collective efforts of many individuals, the day is not far where hunger can be eradicated from this nation, and we start progressing towards a brighter tomorrow!
We believe every soul fed is a step closer to shortening the vast gap between despair and hope.
Standing up for what's right, no matter the challenge.
Honesty, by virtue of being an integral part of our religious and social beliefs, is also the foundation for our charity work. The maintenance of complete transparency in all matters and the strict adherence to standard operating procedures in all of our projects enables us to integrate this value well into our system.
Empathy is the basis of all charity work and a great driving force for the CDF team that dreams to help alleviate some of the problems faced by so many in our country on a daily basis. It is with empathy and understanding that we strive to provide for these people the basic necessities that we have unhindered access to.
Excellence CDF strives to maintain a level of standard and efficiency that matches the globally set standards for specialized solutions that address the problems of our community. The set-up of our projects is such that we use globally-accredited practices in terms of innovation, novelty, and efficiency
Inclusivity At CDF, inclusivity holds special value. It is integrated not only in the workings of our projects but also in the ideas and visions behind them. We aim to help all in need, without the gender, racial, relegious or class discrimination that is unfortunately not unknown in our society. Inclusivity also encompasses animals, as they are simultaneously provided for, especially with projects such as Paani.
All of the projects carried out by CDF fall under the single long term aim to transform our society for the better. Transformation is the goal at personal, local and national levels. We aim to not only transform lives for the better, but, by providing education, awareness, and opportunities, to also transform our society.
