There has been considerable success in the development and implementation of value added solutions for the development of society; however; animal rights has remained an area in which there has not been much consideration. Thousands of strays in the urban centers remain shelter-less, with little prospects of surviving. Furthermore, climatic action and decrease in areas of natural habitats of animals has caused many species to become endangered.
Pakistan is a country in which much of its population especially that of the plains of Punjab and Sindh and in mountainous regions, remains dependent on livestock for survival. In Pakistan, there are no specific protection laws for pets, which are often subject to cruelty of extreme animal sport. Hence it is imperative that protection and nurturing projects to ensure basic animal rights, and developing programs to cater for their needs and survival are developed and implemented in order to create a sustainable societal development.
Charity Doings Foundation has worked extensively towards silage feed provision and vaccination projects for livestock, including sheep, goat and cattle in order to ensure their healthy development and survival. Temporary relief shelter projects for animal protection had also ensured this value proposition, allowing the rural communities dependent on livestock to live out to make a living. The inclusion of animals has become a core tenet of many projects, to transform the core ideology of the nation and its people. The water provision projects include an animal pond, where provision of drinking water is also ensured for animals as well as the local society. Construction of houses also incorporate inclusion of a small animal shed for livestock safety.
Charity Doings Foundation aims to develop permanent animal shelter in urban centers, in order to provide safe nurturing environment to stray animals as well as abandoned pets. These shelters will follow state of the art solutions, in order to ensure excellence and will aim to drive sustainable businesses and inoculate the spirit of raising and loving animals within the community. The organization also aims to expand the scale of livestock relief and nurturing projects, in order to facilitate sustainable development.
